Boy Bands in Texas

I might be a couple of days late on this, but it scares me. The Jonas Brothers have moved to the DFW area.

I'll let this disturbing news settle in.

You know of course this means I can no longer go shopping without the fear that there will be a JoBro sighting and I could be killed in the ensuing mayhem and crushing hordes of screaming teenage girls. I just hope they stick to shopping in Southlake and won't come to Grapevine Mills, Galleria, or Northpark [I like those places].

I actually feel mean and am thinking about going to a mall and shouting "OMG!!! It's the Jonas Brothers!!" and seeing what happens. I'm evil. lol

Quickie Concert Review: Roonie, Locksley, The Bridges @ HOB

This was a great show! The Bridges were the openner. The almost all female group reminded me of Eisley. Their sound is pretty close with a bit of a Fleetwood Mac twist. Everyone I was with loved their set and swayed along with the music.

Locksley was next. The frontman was a slick fast talker with a polished stage presence that reminded of That Thing You Do or Ed Sullivan-era Beatles. Their songs were poppy and fun like those great 60s bands. It wasn't what I was expecting from a band named after Robin Hood's hometown.

Rooney was great as always. They played a lot of song from their first album and few off the new record. They did a few great covers. The encore really impressed me when they switched up positions, drummer Ned to vocals, singer Rob to drums, and keyboardist Louie to guitar. All this to roar through Neil Young's "Rockin' in the Free World." Awesome!

Catchin' Up

Life happens in between my little postings here, and a lot of life has happened since I last tickled the keyboard. Amazing boyfriends aside, here's a couple of things I promised.

Forever The Sickest Kids are on The Warped Tour. It's already made it's pass at Dallas, but for the rest of you out there, you still have a chance to catch them.

If you haven't had a listen to Jesse McCartney's new album, it's worth a listen to hear him go from Disney Radio sugar pop to grown up R&B/Pop ala Justin Timberlake.

I haven't forgotten!

I haven't been abducted by aliens (I wish, though!). I've been hella busy and having IT issues (Verizon's getting an earful tomorrow).

I will say that you should keep your eyes on this here blog. I've got news on G Love, Forever the Sickest Kids, Jessie McCartney, and a concert review of the Rooney show tomorrow night at HOB.

Lots of music blogness to start the holiday weekend off right.

Stay tuned!
